MHS (VanRiet) Sorter – dismantled and prepared for transport

An e-commerce parcel sorter manufactured by VanRiet (Van Riet Material Handling Systems BV). Dismantled and ready for transport.

The sorter consists of:
a) three roller conveyor lines with 72 outbound dispatch stations;
b) one roller conveyor line;
c) running parallel to each outbound line (3 lines) and to the returns line (1 line) is a line (belt conveyor) for removing unnecessary cartons (leading outside the building to a baler container – the baler container is not part of this offer);
d) one chute line for parcels with 46 locations, equipped with a scanner for measuring the size and weight of each parcel.

The capacity of this sorter is rated at 6,000 parcels per hour. The valuation is accompanied by additional photographic documentation illustrating the technical condition of the evaluated items and the detailed components of the sorter.

The sorter’s operation process involves packing for shipment and assigning each parcel to a specific transport company. Goods should be packed into boxes or polybags. Next, an operator scans the goods and generates a label for the box or polybag. Information about the package/container is sent by the sorter to the MHS (VanRiet) controller. Meanwhile, the box/container is loaded onto the intake line by an employee. Products are transported along the line, then merged onto a single conveyor line, where a scanner with a camera identifies the product and measures its dimensions. Afterward, the product is sorted to its designated output (parcel pick-up location).

The MHS (VanRiet) sorter is suitable for handling products of various sizes. It handles cartons with lengths from 150 to 800 mm, widths of 100 to 600 mm, heights of 10 to 400 mm, and weights from 0.25 kg to 32 kg. Polybags (foil pouches) can range in length from 200 to 550 mm, width 150 to 550 mm, height 13 to 400 mm, and weight from 0.25 kg up to 10 kg.

The MHS (VanRiet) sorter is capable of processing up to 6,000 parcels per hour, with shipments sorted into one of 46 directions. An overall diagram of the sorter is presented below. Lines 1–3 are shipping lines, and line 4 (added in 2020) is dedicated to handling returns.
