Vibratory Mill / Ball Mill (Laboratory)
The MM 500 control is a laboratory device designed for dry, wet, and cryogenic grinding. It is suitable for hard, brittle, soft, elastic, and fibrous materials and is used in a wide range of disciplines—including materials research, pharmaceuticals, geology, as well as food and environmental analysis.
Samples (up to 10 mm particle size) and grinding balls are placed into the grinding jars. These jars are then inserted and positioned on the cooling plates. The oscillating movements—up to 30 Hz—pulverize the sample through impact and frictional forces. Optional cooling is possible using a variety of media (LN², water, etc.).
Final fineness down to 0.1 µm can be achieved. The typical grinding process takes between 30 seconds and 30 minutes.

Grinding balls are available in various materials (steel, stainless steel, tungsten carbide, zirconium oxide) and sizes (available from the manufacturer).
The machine offer includes two 125 ml grinding jars (material as shown in the image). 10 mm hardened steel grinding balls are also included.
