Well-used and poor-appearing TEREX machine, previously operated in a scrapyard, shows significant aggressive metal corrosion, including on the feed conveyor. Machine runs well with CAT C4 engine, oil and filter were changed over 300 hours ago, a lot of scrap metal present between rotating parts. Machine is operational but has extensive rust; the powertrain is noisy and the drive chain is completely corroded, powertrain may require attention. The rear conveyor has been replaced with a new one. Lubrication was satisfactory during inspection. The rear conveyor belt was stored next to the front belt as the machine was positioned against a wall indoors. The feeder shows severe corrosion underneath. All hydraulic functions operated correctly during inspection – no leaks or issues detected. The longer the machine remains in the yard, the more the corrosion progresses.
