Machine concept:
The WEIMA high-performance shredder, with its flexible range of applications, can process all types of wood materials (hardwood, softwood, chipboard, MDF materials, plywood, veneer waste, etc.) into fuel chips, achieving impressive volume reduction for bulky materials.

Operation:
The machine is equipped with a large feed hopper and can be loaded either by conveyor belt or manually. This hopper can be customized to meet individual requirements and guarantees continuous and cost-effective material feeding without manual intervention. A hydraulically controlled pusher guides the wood waste to be shredded into the rotor’s cutting area, with automatic, load-dependent control. The internal pusher guides are made from highly abrasion-resistant plastic (polyamide) and are adjustable. The hydraulic cylinders are mounted with universal joints in order to prevent lateral forces on the piston seals.

The patented, profiled V-rotor made of solid steel has a diameter of 252 mm and operates at a rotor speed of 80 – 120 rpm. The concave-sharpened, aggressive, and four-way reversible knives/cutting crowns are mounted in milled pockets on special knife holders. This patented system ensures, by allowing for a minimal cutting gap between counter-knife and rotor for the first time, high throughput, low power consumption, and optimal discharge of the shredded material.

Power transmission from the electric motors is via V-belts to a robust gearbox mounted on one side of the rotor shaft.
