BDK S-1200 Laminar Flow Safety Cabinet
Operating Principle
The safety cabinet is a laboratory device that maintains a largely turbulence-free (laminar) displacement flow within the work area.
The air flowing through the work chamber, as well as the exhaust air, is purified by high-performance particulate air (HEPA) filters.
Scope of Delivery and Features
- Model Versions
The safety cabinet is produced in three different sizes: BDK-S 1200, 1500, and 1800.
- Airflow Monitoring
The airflow speed in both the recirculating-air section (downflow work area) and exhaust section (inflow/exhaust air) is monitored by flow sensors. Any disturbances are indicated by a warning light and audible alarm.
- Sash Monitoring
The safety glass sash is counterbalanced, allowing for easy and infinitely variable manual positioning. If the sash is not set to the proper working position (opening exceeds 190 mm), this is indicated on the display and with an audible alarm.
- Control Panel
All necessary control elements, membrane keypad, audible alarm, indicator lights, and the display showing various operating statuses are arranged on the control panel.
- Microprocessor Control
The microprocessor control system is self-monitoring and constantly displays the airflow speed.
- Device Depth < 800 mm (840 mm)
Due to its shallow depth, the safety cabinet fits through all standard laboratory doorways.
- Housing Design
For safety reasons, the housing is constructed from 1.5 mm thick Zincor sheet metal with welded pressure zones.
- Contamination Zones
All contamination-prone areas are swept with negative pressure.
- Low Noise Emissions
- Glare-free illumination of the work area
- Seamless stainless steel work area
