The original LARC vehicles were equipped with two Cummins 8-cylinder diesel engines, each delivering 300 hp. On land, the vehicles could reach a maximum speed of 48 km/h, and on water 9.5 knots, which is approximately 18 km/h. The unladen weight of the vehicle is 22 tons. The maximum permissible weight was 35.5 tons. The previous owner intended to convert the boats to a fully electric drive system in order to offer sightseeing tours on the Wadden Sea. Approximately €200,000 was invested, but the project was not completed. The diesel engines were removed and are no longer available. Battery packs are present and partially installed. It is not known exactly what remains to be completed.
